The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has warned against racism or discrimination at the selection of beneficiaries for the Federal Government Special Public Works, SPW.
The Minister, revealed this in a tweet on Saturday, complained that some States’ Selection Committee was considering only indigenes for the employment.
The Minister explained that everyone who is resident in any Local Government Area, LGA GA in the country, irrespective of tribe, is qualified for the job.
“We understand some States’ Selection Committees are considering only indigenes for the 774,000 jobs. That’s unacceptable,” Keyamo said.
“Anyone resident in any LGA in the country, irrespective of tribe, is qualified. It is one country that we all live in. The NDE coordinators should note.”
Keyamo added that the job application is for all members not only APC.
He also said he had never instructed that the forms should be given to the ruling party members.
