The Afenifere Renewal Group (AGF) argues for unification in the southwest, and the region can get its presidential vote in 2023 through Harmony.
The call was contained in an address by the group on Saturday (July 11) in Ekiti.
According to the ARG, “the Yoruba has everything it takes to nominate a candidate in the next general election. The group said it would the southwest has human and material resources to take over the presidential ticket from the North”.
“ARG asked Tinubu, chief Kayode Fayemi, and Bisi Akande to lead the battle”.
“Southwest is ready for power. There are human and material resources. ” AGF said “Political leaders should
continue consultations. We have six geopolitical zones and only one block in the southwest”.
Tinubu must launch this block.
Also, luckily, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, who is the NGF chairman, is from the Southwest,” ARG said. “The group also called on Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, and the pioneer chairman of the ruling party, Chief Bisi Akande, to make the dream come true, adding that the Yoruba nation is ready to take the mantle of leadership”.
We have a blueprint that we can present to any presidential candidate that can bring better democratic governance to all Nigerians,” the group also added.
The group in a statement on Friday, July 3, said a joint ticket of Yemi Osinbajo and Borno governor, Babagana Zulum as president and vice president respectively in 2023 would lead to national development”.
The advocacy group said “Osinbanjo/Zulum ticket would have vast benefits for the development of Nigeria 2023”.
