The long waiting time for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination Council, (WASSCE) has been announced!.
WAEC would start from 4th August to 5th September 2020.
This was stated in a communique by the State Minister of Education, Mr. Emeka Nwajibu, at the Presidential Task Force(PTF) briefing in Abuja, he also said that “National Examination Council(NECO) and NABTEB examinations would also take place immediately after the WEAC examination is completed.
According to him, As soon as we conclude WAEC, we will take NABTEB and NECO.
If we can recall the federal government last week approved what it called” safe reopening school nationwide.
Mr. Emeka said that”all the states have the option of either resumption for day or boarding students as long as they follow the basic rules and regulations, to contain the spread of COVID-19.
He also said that the Federal Ministry of Education will on Tuesday old conclusive stakeholders’ meetings with the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) and Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) on new examination dates urging final year students who are yet to register for SSCE to do so as soon as possible.
Nwajiuba said private school owners must keep to the regulations of the pandemic control as the school reopen for the examination.
The commencement of the annual Senior Secondary School Examinations (SSCE) for students in senior secondary three was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
